No. 1 Albert View is our newly renovated, ground-floor apartment located about 80 metres from the iconic Tenby Harbour and Castle Beach.
The apartment is cool and immaculate with lovely open plan kitchen, dining and living area, funky shower room and cosy double bedrooms. It has everything you could need for a long or a short stay – with a dedicated courtyard to the rear for a barbecue and sundowners after a day on the beach or spent walking the coastal path.
It’s a perfect base for two couples or a young family who wish to explore the area. You can walk up Castle Hill to see the property’s name-sake Prince Albert & climb on the cannons, scramble up the steps to St Catherine’s Fort, dig barricades on Harbour beach to beat the tide, go for fish & chips at Fecci’s, visit the amusement arcades for some nostalgia, go crabbing over the Harbour sluice, get a huge breakfast at Dennis Café on Castle beach – ALL within 500 metres of your front door.
It is next door to our gorgeous gastro-pub The Hope & Anchor Inn which is a ‘locals’ pub and a community institution! Perfect for the lazy chefs, you can make this your second kitchen & dine out by the cozy fire or order take-outs of great local seafood & home-cooked family meals. In the summer months, there is a lovely cosmopolitan café-culture feel to this area, with no cars allowed, which makes it safe to wander and eat al fresco at the numerous cafes and bars.
The 2 cosy double bedrooms are situated side by side with cool fresh bed linen and a wardrobe each.
Stylish bathroom with toilet, WC, walk-in shower, LED mirror and LED wash hand basin drawer units.
There is everything you need in this modern kitchen, with oak work tops and bespoke shelving. Fridge with freezer box, microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher. Washing machine located in communal hall.
The comfy living room is open plan together with the kitchen and dining area, with patio doors onto rear courtyard. Leather chesterfield sofa, wall mounted tv, bespoke art on the walls.
Linen & Towels
Bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests must bring their own beach towels.
Dishwasher, fridge-freezer, hob/stove, iron & board, microwave, oven, washing machine, hairdryer.
Central heating, internet access, TV, barbecue, garden/courtyard. Cot & highchair available on request.
Ground floor apartment.
This apartment has its own dedicated courtyard/barbecue area, accessed directly through the patio doors from the lounge area.
This courtyard is a lavender-lined sun-trap, and is for the sole use of guests at No 1 Albert View. There is an adjacent split-level, fenced patio area & bbq dedicated to the guests of No 2 Albert View.
The owners’ housekeeping cupboard is located in the communal hall & an outbuilding at the communal entrance to the courtyards; some access to these will be required, potentially during the guests’ stay.
Other points to note
A huge benefit to this apartment which sleeps 4 (plus cot) is that it can be let together with our gorgeous upstairs apartment, No. 2 Albert View, which sleeps 6+, providing large group accommodation for 10+ guests in total. Subject to both being available of course.
This property is so central that family members will be able to just come & go as they please – pop to the shops, or nip back up from the beach for a nap or for those forgotten items.
Being so near the Harbour there is no parking with this apartment. However the nearest parking is only a 5-10 minute walk away, and there is so much to do within Tenby and its extensive beaches, many people park up their car in the nearby reasonably-priced multi-storey and forget about it until it is time to depart.
Non smoking. 5pm takeover. 1 pet allowed on prior request.
Pedestrianisation – between early July and mid September Tenby town centre becomes ‘pedestrianised’ which means the town is largely closed to vehicles between 11am and 5.30pm every day. This makes for a lovely ‘cafe culture’ where it is safe to wander in the streets and dine al fresco, but it does mean that your arrival may be affected. Pembrokeshire County Council have staff at the entrance to the restricted areas, and if you explain to them that you need to unload your luggage and give the property address & proof of booking, they should let you through for this purpose alone and then you would need to park your car in one of the public car-parks. Thereafter there will be a pedestrianisation permit at the property for the other days of your stay; although bringing the car into the restricted areas is strongly discouraged during 11am & 5.30pm. Please be assured the benefits of pedestrianisation do outweigh this slight inconvenience on your first day.
